Divorce and separation are increasingly common, leading to a large proportion of children experiencing family breakdown before they reach the age of 16.
The Manx Family Mediation Network is confident that it is possible to resolve many problems arising from family breakdown without resorting to court proceedings. They work towards family settlements by concentrating on the best interests of any children and looking at future requirements.
Studies show that arrangements for children negotiated by mediation are more likely to continue into the long term than arrangements ordered by the Court.
